Kerrytown is an Ann Arbor neighborhood which is home to wonderful restaurants, shops and the Ann Arbor Food Co-op. When I relocated back to Ann Arbor after 10 years in New York City last year, I was really happy to discover new vegan restaurants in the neighborhood. But there is much more to this story.
While the federal government has provided huge bailouts to chain restaurants like the Shake Shack, small restaurants have been suffering. Here is the story of a restaurant owner who has applied equal amounts of business ingenuity and social compassion to survive during this crisis and provide Mutual Aid for her neighbors and service workers. This story is written in her own words using a shared Google doc which I am embedding in this post. Thus, as she updates her Google doc, her story below will update.
